The Monarch African Research Institute

The mission of the Monarch African Research Institute (MARI) is to create and highlight Monarch lead research in African management practice and to provide an arena for open and constructive dialogue on issues important to African scholarship and its business community. In carrying out its mission MARI highlights research from doctoral candidates, research fellows and guest of the Institute. A further aspect of the mission is to provide outreach to the African business community to increase awareness and engagement on issues important to the African community.

Peer to Peer Learning

MARI promotes peer to peer learning amongst African Scholars to encourage exchange of ideas and leveraging of expertise.

Academic Excellence

MARI encourages African Scholars to push the limits of academic inquiry. This contributes to the advancement of academic theory and practice.

Empowering Scholarship

MARI Scholars experience empowerment from insightful discovery. MARI scholars are transformed into change agents promoting socio-economic development in the Continent.

MARI fosters a culture of respect for diversity and opens opportunities for mutual collaboration. This culture provides a conducive environment for academic inquiry. This is also reflected in the diversity of professors and students coming from different part of the Continent and beyond.

MARI provides scholarly support and mentorship to all African scholars to conduct evidence-informed research relevant to the challenges facing the Continent. This is done through research workshops where scholars present and receive feedback on their research.
